Latest Bloom Prediction
Updated March 20, 2019
First day of spring is finally here
Episode 2 of Sakura Watch 2019 has been posted (read the latest update here). The calendar officially puts winter to rest today, and its all the more evident with the muddy grass and melting snow during my visit to High Park. Along with the warmer temperatures today and forecast for the weeks ahead, I’ll now be watching for signs of the next stages of bud development.
So far, so good
It's still too early for an accurate prediction, however, what I can say is that large clusters of buds this year are very positive signs. This could potentially even lead to a significant blossom showing this year - that is of course if the weather co-operates.
With these positive signs, things do seem to be on track for the usual bloom dates which can range from of mid to April into early May. But again, it’s too early for an accurate prediction, and more observation is needed.
Thanks for visiting and be sure to read the latest post to see the video and photos. As always, watch for more updates soon!
